Manage vendors

Manage vendors in FareHarbor Desk to organize supplier information and maintain vendor records for the products and services offered through your Desk account.

Vendor overview

Vendors represent service providers, such as tour companies, transportation providers, or activity operators.

Vendor records are managed under Manage > Vendors in FareHarbor Desk.

Vendor records can include:

  • Vendor contact details
  • Vendor addresses
  • Accounting identifiers
  • Associated products

Add a vendor

To add a vendor:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Vendors.
  2. Click the Add New Vendor button.
  3. Complete the vendor fields:
    1. Vendor Name
    2. Vendor Type
    3. Vendor Address
    4. Contact Information
    5. System ID
    6. General Ledger ID
  4. Click the Save button.

View & edit vendors

To view or edit a vendor:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Vendors.
  2. Use the search field to locate a vendor.
  3. Click the vendor name.
  4. Update the vendor details as needed.
  5. Click the Save button.

Add vendor-level blackout dates

Vendor blackout dates can be used to identify periods when a vendor is unavailable.

To create a vendor blackout date:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Vendors.
  2. Select a vendor.
  3. Under the Blackout dates section, click + Add new date.
  4. Select a From date and To date.
  5. Enter a reason for the blackout date in the Reason field.
  6. Click the Save button in the Vendor settings to save your blackout dates.

Existing blackout dates can be edited or removed by clicking the ... icon under the Actions column. Once created, blackout dates apply to all products for that vendor. 

View vendor products

Vendor records include access to products associated with that vendor.

To view products for a vendor:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Vendors.
  2. Select a vendor.
  3. Click the View Products button.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove a vendor?

Yes. Edit the vendor and select the archive option at the bottom of the settings page.

What is the difference between vendors and products?

Vendors represent service providers, while products represent the individual services or experiences offered by those vendors.
